An unfairly back-shelved artist
Louis Tenars, author of a book on Pierre Feitu, portrays the “faun-faced” Breton sculptor as a cheerful, eloquent and refined individual with a zestful spirit. His life narrative is nothing short of extraordinary.

Acknowledgements
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone whose active collaboration made this website project possible.
In particular, we sincerely thank:
– M. Joël Le Pape and Mme Laurence David for their contagious enthusiasm and profound admiration for Pierre Feitu and his work. We are especially thankful for their tireless research in unearthing documents, and their commitment to preserving the statues and other surviving pieces of his art.

– Mme Sylviane Aymé, Chairperson of the Art Workshop of Mûr-de-Bretagne, who was instrumental in “uncovering” and bringing to light the sculptor’s remaining works. With the help of M. Peter Johnson, photographer, and M. Yannick Servel, sculptor, she brought them back into the spotlight. Had it not been for these three individuals, we would have still been unaware of the existence of these works and that they are on display in Mûr-de-Bretagne.
– Franck Feitu and Isabelle Bourelly née Feitu, great-nephew and great-niece of the sculptor, who patiently collected and compiled numerous documents and much information, without which we would know almost nothing about Pierre Feitu or his substantial body of work.
– Our English and Spanish speaking friends who reviewed and refined the website’s translations, choosing to remain anonymous out of modesty.
– The current landlord of the house where Pierre Feitu was born.
– We also express our sincere thanks to the Town Hall of Mûr-de-Bretagne and all those who have supported and continue to support the preservation of Pierre Feitu’s legacy.
